The Fight for Control

On of the things I really enjoy exploring in my fiction is the idea of a powerful person who surrenders some of his or her control, usually with ambivalence, to another. Some of my characters are powerful, accomplished women who might like it rough, but also like to be in charge--and they happen to be attracted to strong, dominant men.

In the Taken by the Incubus stories, Mala, a succubus, finds herself up against Soren, an incubus who is just as powerful and dangerous as she is. Letting him control her would be the ultimate surrender, because it would also result in her death.

Grace, an experienced lawyer, meets her match in Sam, a lawyer on the opposing side of a contentious legal battle. Both of them are ruthless, competitive personalities, and as the titles Breaking Him and Breaking Her suggest, both are interested in being on top.

Despite these themes of control and domination, these stories are not BDSM erotica. There isn't one character who plays submissive to the other's dom, no actual agreement regarding who's in charge, and no safe word. Instead, both characters in the developing romance are dominant, and they are struggling for control. Neither wants to give in to the other, and yet both end up surrendering at some point. That's where the tension and the friction comes from, and for me, that's what makes it hot!

Pagan Desires?

Have you ever thought of being lured into the deep woods for an orgy with fantastical woodland creatures? Imagine a pagan Horned King--muscled, beautiful, powerful, with cruelly twisted horns jutting from his head.

He's looking for a virgin sacrifice. And it just might be my new character, Lily. Twenty years old, not very experienced, but wanting something fantastical in her first serious sexual experience. She may get way more than she asked for!

I find Pagan mythology absolutely fascinating and quite titillating. Rebirth and sex is a celebrated part of the cycle on earth.

So...I took many of these elements and mythical creatures to write a story that might turn you on. :) I'm hoping to write more Pagan Desires stories soon. It's too delicious a fantasy world! I can't write just one.

How about you? Ever read up on pagan mythology and found it to be irresistibly erotic?

Notes on self publishing

It's more work that you think. That is, if you want to put a quality product out there.

I get my work edited and proofread very carefully. The story has to make sense from start to finish, and more importantly, it has to be hot, hot, hot! I make my covers to brand my work and to exude a certain classiness that isn't always found in erotica. What can I say? I like a pretty cover. :)

Learning how to format for e-book uploading has been more annoying that difficult, and using GIMP to make my covers had been perfectly easy, though it was more tricky at first. But the end product? I'm pretty proud of it. And what matters is having fun and sharing the passion.

Have you self-pubbed erotica? Have any tips to share to other writers out there?

Fantasies...in a museum.

Everyone has them. Not everyone writes them down.

The cool thing about writing is you can imagine anything happening, anywhere, as crazy as the circumstances may be. You can make that kiss a little wetter, that tongue a little more lascivious.

Have you ever thought of being taken by a creature that was centuries old, that lusted only for your flesh? That awoke to the feel of your skin, your tits, your hot, wet pussy...

Well, I finally wrote it down.

Taken By A Mummy is one of my first pieces of erotica. If you've ever dreamed of being taken by a being that lusted for you, and only you, you might enjoy it. Or fantasized about sex after hours in museum...mmm, getting hot just thinking about it. :)

So tell me...what are you fantasizing about right now? Ever feel like writing it down?

Welcome to Folia's World!

Hello, and welcome to my world.

My name is Folia and I've decided to start a little new obsession--writing down the stories that have been occupying my mind for too long.

I'm willing to show you, because I'm not selfish. Daydreams and fantasies should be shared. It makes the world a little hotter, don't you think?
